I was introduced to One Word through a You Version (Bible App) devotional about five or six years ago. I loved the concept but didn’t find that it resonated and became part of my intentions and self-care until these last two years. I guess I could say I began to see the value it added and the role it plays for me. What one word does for me is helps me to set my intention for the year. It’s one word that reminds me of my goals for the years. It gives me a point to return to when I’m in a “What in the world?” Season. In those times I’m often reminded of my intention behind the word, and I am able to start to peel the onion, and see the lesson, and use that to move forward. This one word will serve as a lens to process this time in my life.
