I was introduced to One Word through a You Version (Bible App) devotional about five or six years ago. I loved the concept but didn’t find that it resonated and became part of my intentions and self-care until these last two years. I guess I could say I began to see the value it added and the role it plays for me. What one word does for me is helps me to set my intention for the year. It’s one word that reminds me of my goals for the years. It gives me a point to return to when I’m in a “What in the world?” Season. In those times I’m often reminded of my intention behind the word, and I am able to start to peel the onion, and see the lesson, and use that to move forward. This one word will serve as a lens to process this time in my life.
Do you have One Word for 2020?
How will that word serve you throughout the year?

Me: Alright!!! DANG!!!🙄🤦🏾♀️👍🏾
I have to honestly say that I don’t even feel like the same woman. The quiet that I once ran away from, I fully embraced. Things I used to cling to, I let go of. I used my voice. I felt some way at times, but I didn’t dwell. I felt it and moved on. Physically... I’m still chunky in the middle, and that’s cool. Maybe in 2020, maybe. Lol.
I actually created a lot more art this year. A lot more. I used my creativity to process the emotions, thoughts, and lessons of the year. While I was absent from social media, a fair portion of the year, my studio saw and heard from me regularly. Something I’m definitely working on sharing more of in 2020. But before we close out 2019, and run arms open wide into 2020:
Here’s what I learned in 2019:
Bonus Round:
